It is with great pleasure that we welcome you and your child as members of the Bay House School and Sixth Form community.

Please check this page for important transition information and updates. We will hold various activities for pupils, parents & carers that will ensure a smooth transition to secondary school for all involved.

Transition 2018

Admission to Year 7 2018 - Key dates

To help with their transition, all pupils will spend two days at Bay House during the summer term. Please review the dates listed below and note carefully the dates your child will need to attend. As you will see, each school has an individual transition day but on Wednesday 4 July, ALL pupils, who are joining us in September 2018 are expected to come to Bay House School.

Transition Dates

  • Tuesday 3 July - Transition day for Year 6 pupils from Lee on Solent Junior School/Haselworth Primary School and all out of catchment schools
  • Wednesday 4 July - Transition day for Year 6 Pupils from ALL schools
  • Thursday 5 July - Transition day for Year 6 pupils from Alverstoke Junior School/Leesland Junior School and Gomer Junior School

Further information regarding these transition visits will be communicated to you at a later date.

In addition to the transition visits, all pupils will also be invited to perform in the 'Year 6 Choral Concert'. The rehearsals for this will take place during the all school visit on Wednesday 4 July and each school will take part in one of the scheduled performances that evening. Expected arrival and performance times will be confirmed at a later date. If possible, we would appreciate it if pupils could wear a Bay House polo top for their allocated performance which can be bought directly from Skoolkit in Fareham or ordered online via www.skoolkit.co.uk<http://www.skoolkit.co.uk>.

To help answer any questions you or your child may have in the lead up to their transition to Bay House, we will also be holding a series of Q&A sessions. Please carefully review the below dates and make a note of the meeting you may want to attend:

  • Wednesday 6 June - Q&A Meeting for Haselworth Pupils (to be held at Haselworth School)
  • Thursday 7 June - Q&A Meeting for Alverstoke pupils (to be held at Alverstoke Junior School)
  • Monday 11 June - Q&A Meeting for Gomer pupils (to be held at Gomer Junior School)
  • Tuesday 12 June - Q&A Meeting for Leesland pupils (to be held at Leesland Junior School)
  • Wednesday 13 June - Q&A Meeting for pupils who are joining from out of catchment schools (to be held at Bay House School)
  • Thursday 14 June - Q&A Meeting for Lee on Solent Pupils (to be held at Lee on Solent Junior School)

Admission Appeals Timetable for Year 7 in September 2018

Appeals for transfer to Bay House School – Year 7

Please note

  1. Appeals lodged after  will be heard on the above date if possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
  2. For late applications, appeals will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline of lodging the appeals (where possible) or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
  3. Appellants will receive at least 10 school days’ notice of the location of their appeal hearing.
  4. Following the lodging of an appeal, additional papers may be submitted to
    Miss J Hathaway, Admissions Officer at Bay House School no later than 14 working days before the hearing. Evidence submitted after this date may not be considered.

Transport to School

Please find below the link to Hampshire County Council's website which provides information for parents who wish to apply for transport to school. Applications should be submitted to the Passenger Transport Group as soon as possible. This is to allow time for the applications to be processed by the beginning of the autumn term. Applications received after the end of JUNE may be subject to delay. Parents will normally be notified of transport arrangements during the summer holidays.
