General Studies GCSE

Pupils will sit a General Studies GCSE exam on the 15 and 20 June 2017. This is a full GCSE and will give them ‘one in the bag’ before they start their GCSE’s in year 11. GCSE General Studies focuses on important, interesting and relevant contemporary issues. This increasingly popular qualification:

  • develops thinking and functional skills
  • extends curriculum and PSHE Citizenship programmes
  • increases students' GCSE scores
  • encourages thinking across specialist subjects

The exam consists of two separate papers:

Unit 1: 25% - four questions based on pre-release materials

Unit 2: 75% - multiple choice question paper followed by some questions on source material

You can look at the AQA website for the Unit 2 past papers and other resources here.
