The Governing body comprises of 18 members representing a wide range of business and community interests as befits an academy of 2,400 students drawn from across the Gosport area.
Each governor’s particular expertise is used to challenge policy in key areas of academy life, acting as a critical friend for the Executive Headship Group.
The full governing body meets twice each term with the Annual General Meeting incorporated into the October meeting. The Personnel, Teaching & Learning and Finance & Buildings Committees also meet twice a term to discuss specific matters and advise the Board. Individual governors spend many days at Bay House to report back on established practice.
The term of office for any governor is four years. At the end of that period all governors, except parent governors for the post of parent governor, can be re-elected.
